Timothy R Gerbracht, Psy.D.
Dr. Timothy Gerbracht is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned his Master's degree in Clinical Psychology (M.S.) from Loyola College and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the George Washington University. Dr. Gerbracht has over twenty years of experience serving youth and their families in diverse settings including inpatient hospital and residential facilities, outpatient community mental health clinics, schools, and presently in his private outpatient practice. He has supervised postdoctorate psychology residents in their clinical and psychological testing work and enjoys collaborating with other professionals in the community who are committed to serving youth and families in need.
Dr. Gerbracht 's training background is strongly influenced by contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy practices. He integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness training when indicated by the client's unique needs. He works with pre-teen to post-college aged youth to obtain symptom relief while also developing an understanding of themselves which could lead to lasting change. As an individual's life is profoundly influenced by their family relationships, Dr. Gerbracht often meets with parents on a regular basis to maintain an open dialogue and to provide parental support and guidance. He prefers to work in a multidisciplinary manner and often corresponds with school staff, psychiatrists, pediatricians, and others who are involved with the client and their family. Dr. Gerbracht has a particular interest in working with young adults who are experiencing difficulties related to the transition to adult life.
